As I stood outside of my hotel room at Fazzenda, I could not help but think I was in a dream. There were mountaneuous hills in every direction and the sun was shining. I knew it was going to be a good day. There were no clouds in the sky- contrary to our trenchial rainstorm at Bombinhas- so, it was a sign from God we needed to soak up every inch of sunlight we could that day. Fazzenda is a large getaway tucked into a valley with many things to do for families, couples, etc. A guest can paddle boat, go on a bike ride, play sand volleyball and soccer, go to the pool, or partake in the adventure course in the forest to name a few activities. Horseback riding was another option. A few of us girls went on a trail ride and were riding along, when suddenly, one of our group members fell off the horse whose name I will not disclose for my own comedic enjoyment. She was not too excited about it at first when her pants were covered in mud, but eventually we got her to laugh about it. Most of the morning and some of the afternoon was spent in competing in a "competitve" game of volleyball. There were a lot of laughs and trash talk, but all in good fun. Some of the group members went on an adventure course where they could go repeling, do a high ropes course, zipling, and paddleboarding. While they were being active, the rest of us hung out by the pool and caught some much needed rays. It was nice to relax for a few hours and attempt not to get burnt. After gorging ourselves at supper, the food was amazing as the usual, some of us attended a balancing act with other hotel members. After that, there was a dance of mainly the "older community" at the hotel, but our group was sure to bring the youthful flare to the "party" when they asked the DJ to play "Trap Queen." The older people didn't know what to do besides laugh and take pictures of the "American" kids. All-in-all, Fazzenda was a much needed place of relaxation and good company.
