I lived in Brazil for the first time when I was 19. At that time I spent 2 years in the central part of the country. It was a life changing experience. Ever since then I have loved the Brazilian people and culture. My research centers around Brazilian families.
In 2003 my wife and I took our 2 daughters to lived in Porto Alegre where we lived for a year. Two years after we returned from Brazil we adopted our son Isaac. Two years ago my oldest daughter, then 14 yrs old, spent 3 months in Porto Alegre with some of our friends. Needless to say, the Hollist family is rooted in Brazil.

This will be my third time going to Brazil, but my first time going to Porto Alegre and Florianopolis. My first two times to Brazil were on business through the University of Nebraska-Lincoln Office of Admissions.
My recent travels have been to Southeast Asia and India. I am really excited to return to South America, and like all of you, explore the business and cultural aspects of Brazil. I am also looking forward to eating pao de queijo (cheese bread) once again. You will become a fan quickly, I promise!
