A couple of people had to stay back at the hotel because they were sick from either something they ate or a flu bug. (another one bites the dust)

We left for PUCRS around 9:00AM and went to their Science and Technology Museum. It was a lot like the Children’s Museum in that it had a lot of fun interactive displays that were fun to use and educational at the same time. We went through the space exhibit, the family displays, and a couple others.
Then we went to a Dell and Tecna talk by Professor Alex Eiu. He talked about their collaborative culture and how they are moving from call centers to expanding contact with their consumers through social media like Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube Videos.
Musical Dessert was next on the agenda. Most of us thought it was going to be actual dessert and music, but it was a musical treat of two amazingly talented opera singers and a pianist. It is one of PUCRS Cultural Events: Sobremesa Musical.

Lunch was at the fancy faculty dining hall that had good sushi, pasta, meat, and dessert buffets. A couple of us finally learned how to properly order water without stumbling through our order. Agua sem gas (water without bubbles/carbination).
Next was a talk on history. Professor Luciana Murari talked through 1895 about the history of Brazil. Then we visited the Irmao Jose Main Library. It was very modern and updated.
We were supposed to have one more talk at PUCRS, but they could tell we were all exhausted and some not feeling so well, so we said goodbye to the wonderful staff that had been showing us around while we were there.
We got to go back to the hotel and rest up for a while before we headed out for dinner. We had dinner at a cute little restaurant that served these sandwiches that I can only describe as similar to a Runza. It was toaster strudel like bread with meat, cheese, and tomatoes (or whatever your heart desired) inside.
Full and happy we headed back to the hotel for a good night’s sleep.
