Church & Familiy Visits Then on the Road Again on Our Way to Dinner :
Evangelical Church Visit
-Holy water
--Brought individually in bottles by all believers
--Used as a spiritual treatment that heals within 7 weeks of drinking it little by little
-Lower class in presence due to location the church is set up on
-Not as physically activity as other evangelical churches here and in the US
-Dispere
--Popular to join these type of churches due to misfortune
-Music
--Similar to gospel church music (African)
--But the group experience of miracles was quite different from the of the U.S.
-People shared personal situations such as being healed from back pain or cancer
-"Give up financially for needed things in life" was one of the church's goal
- Symbols such as the Star of Davis surrounded the interior of the church
Morman Church Visit
-Mrs. Enderson along with many other families met at the Morman Church
-Before the "meeting" as they called it, people smiled and greeted one another
-During the meeting, people were respectful and sang with outstanding coordination
-This group of believers compared to the Evangelical one, seemed to be better off
--Men wore suites and seemed educated
--Women wore nice dresses and seemed to be very talented
--For the most part, people knew English incredibly well which also shows the level of education and economic status of the group as a whole
-After the "meeting" as they called it was over, families took students to eat at their homes
Family Visits
-All UNL students were divided in groups of three and assigned to a family
-For instance, I was assigned to be with Mrs. Enderson along with Justin and Kim
--Mrs. Enderson had cooked for us amazing rice with meat and sausage, beans, cabbage salad and a delicious mousse desert cherry flavor
-Even though Mrs. Enderson spoke no English whatsoever, he was accompanied by a translator who is actually her son in law. Another individual, friend from church joined all of us in eating, playing uno and going out in walk at a very beautiful park
-Another group bumbed into us and we ended up taking lots of pictures in the park
-The family visits was a great experience for all UNLF students
-Delicious homemade food, games, a walk in the park all made us learn and have fun with the families
-At the end, it was hard to say goodbye even though it had only been hours we all had met. And a small gift of gratitude was given by UNL students.
-With no doubt, this experience is one of the best students have had so far
Catholic Church-Mass
-Only those who wished attended Mass the rest of the students either power napped or continued to write on this journals
Dinner Time
-Dinner took place at _____
-Food consisted of meet of different seasonings set on an enormous metal stickS
-The food was accompanied but an amusing performance by dancers
-Then to end the show, two of us, UNL students (Sarah and Justin) were called out to stage to a part of the performance by andividual with spinning ropes. The entire audience loved it, especially because Justin was tissed about being Justin Bieber and the guy flourted with Sarah calling her beautiful and speaking to her in Spanish
-Before leaving, students took the opportunity to take a picture with the meet on sticks
This is what we did today!
